Event wristbands

Event wristbands go on the wrist so your staff can see who is meant to be there. We print them in Melbourne and send them anywhere in Australia. Have a look at the wristbands we make, or ask us for a quote if you would rather talk through the date and how many people are coming.

In short

  • Staff look at the wrist instead of checking a list. A colour, or a word printed on the band, is usually all they need.
  • For a single night, a party, or a school social, Tyvek wristbands are the usual choice. They stick on once. If someone tries to peel one off and give it to a friend, the band tears.
  • If the event runs over a few days, or people will want to keep the band afterwards, look at woven wristbands.
  • If the band has to stay on until they leave, plastic clip wristbands use a clip that breaks the band if it is forced off.
  • The price depends on how many you need and whether you print a logo. You can see that when you order, or we can send you a quote.

What they are for

People use event wristbands so the person on the gate can tell, at a glance, who has already come in. A guest holds out their wrist. If the colour is right, they walk through. If it is not, they go back and buy a ticket.

Most of the people who call us are running a party, a school function, a club night, or a small festival. They pick one colour for guests and another colour for staff. If you would like a word on the band, such as Staff or VIP, tell us that word and we will print it.

Some events like a small stub that can be torn off at the gate. If you need that, mention it when you order and we will include it. If you only need a colour, that is all we print. We always send you a picture of the design to approve before we print the real bands.

Which band

Think about how long the event lasts, and whether people should be able to take the band off. That is usually enough to choose.

Rain and water

Tyvek wristbands are made to get wet. Rain, sweat, and washing your hands will not ruin them. They are not meant for swimming. If people will be in a pool or the ocean, silicone wristbands or plastic clip wristbands are a better fit, and we can help you choose.

Silicone wristbands slide on and off, which is handy when you want people to keep them after the event. They are a poor choice if the band is how you check tickets, because anyone can take one off and hand it to a friend. For that job, use Tyvek, woven, or plastic clip.

FAQs

Where can I get wristbands for an event?+
We supply them from Melbourne and ship across Australia. You can order event wristbands from us, or ask us for a quote if you would like us to recommend a type for your date and numbers.
What is the purpose of event wristbands?+
So your staff can see who is allowed in without checking a list every time. They look for a colour, or a word printed on the band. A second colour can mark staff, a guest list, or a later session. Once the band is on, it is much harder for someone to pass their entry on to a friend.
Are there any waterproof wristbands available?+
Yes. Tyvek, woven, and plastic clip wristbands are all fine in the rain. Silicone is fine in water too. If the band is how you check tickets, do not rely on silicone alone, because it comes off easily.
Where can I find cheap paper wristbands for events?+
What most people call a paper event wristband is actually Tyvek. It looks like paper, but it is much tougher, and it is what we use for a single night. The price depends on how many you need and whether you print a logo. You will see that when you order, or we can send you a quote.
