For the day they visit

Visitor lanyards

You put a Visitor lanyard on someone when they sign in, so your team can see they are a guest and not staff. The word Visitor is already on the strap. There is no minimum. They can often leave Melbourne the same day if you order before 3pm. You can order Visitor lanyards from us, or ask for a quote if you want a logo on the strap as well.

In short

  • The word Visitor is already printed. You hand it over when someone signs in, and you take it back when they leave.
  • There is no minimum. A handful for reception is a normal order.
  • The strap has a clip for a visitor card, and a buckle at the back of the neck that opens if it is pulled hard.
  • If you order before 3pm, they can often leave the same day. Pickup from our Melbourne office is possible if you are local.
  • Colours do not have a hidden meaning. You decide. We keep Visitor, Staff, Security, Contractor, and VIP as ready-made words.

At reception

Someone arrives who does not work here. You write their name, or you print a card, and you put a Visitor strap around their neck. For the rest of the visit, anyone in the building can see they are a guest. When they leave, the strap comes back to the desk.

That is a different job from Staff lanyards. Staff stay on the people who work here. Visitor is for the day, and then it comes off.

The card and the strap

People mix these two up. The card, or the tag, is the piece with the name on it. The lanyard is the strap that holds that card so it sits on the chest. You can use the strap with a card, or you can use the word Visitor on its own if that is enough for your desk.

If you want your logo on the strap as well as the word, send the artwork and we will print it. That order is on custom lanyards. If the guest is on a list you want the room to treat differently, that is a VIP lanyard, not this one.

FAQs

What do the colours of lanyards mean?+
Whatever you decide they mean. One colour for visitors and another for staff is enough for most desks. We will print the colours you pick, or you can use the ready-made words we already have.
What is the difference between a tag and a lanyard?+
The tag is the card with the name on it. The lanyard is the strap around the neck that holds that card. You can order the strap from us. You can write the tag yourself, or we can talk you through printed cards if you need them.
What are the different types of lanyards?+
Around here it is usually a ready-made word, such as Visitor or Staff, or a strap we print with your logo. Most of them have a buckle at the back that opens if the strap is pulled. Custom lanyards is the place to start if you want artwork.
Where can I buy Visitor lanyards?+
You can order them from us. We are in Melbourne and we ship across Australia. If you would rather talk through how reception will use them, ask us for a quote.
