Tyvek wristbands

Tyvek wristbands are the band we use for a single night. They go on the wrist, they stay readable in the rain, and they tear if someone tries to take one off and hand it to a friend. We print them here in Melbourne. You can order Tyvek wristbands from us, or ask for a quote if you would like to talk through the date and the numbers.

In short

  • Tyvek is a tough plastic fibre that looks like paper. That is why people also ask for paper wristbands and get the same band.
  • It is the usual choice for a party, a school social, or a one-night event. Staff see a colour or a printed word, and the band tears if someone tries to pass it on.
  • We can send them plain, with a black print, or with a full colour design. We show you a picture to approve before we print.
  • They are fine in rain and sweat, but they are not for swimming. For a few days on the wrist, look at woven wristbands.
  • The price depends on quantity and print. You can see that when you order, or we can send you a quote.

What Tyvek is

Tyvek is the name of the material. Dupont makes it. In the hand it feels light and a little papery, which is why so many people still call these paper wristbands. It is a plastic fibre, not wood pulp, so it does not turn to mush when it gets wet.

The sticky tab is made so the band destroys itself if someone peels it off. That is the point at the entrance. Your staff are not checking a list. They are looking at a colour on a wrist, and they can see if the band has been ripped and stuck back together.

If you are still choosing between Tyvek and the other styles we make, event wristbands walks through that.

Plain, black print, or full colour

A lot of events only need a colour. Yellow for guests, blue for staff, and that is the system. You can mix those colours in one order when the artwork is the same.

If you want a logo or a date on the band, we print it. Black print is the simple version. Full colour is for a design that has to match a brand. Send us the artwork and we will tell you which of those two will look right. We do not expect you to print the bands yourself at home. That is our job.

You can write on Tyvek with a marker if you need a name at the last minute. For anything you care about spelling, let us print it. We send a picture first, you check it, and then we print the real bands.

How long they last

Tyvek is built for one night, and it will usually still look fine the next morning. A wet festival Saturday into Sunday is normal. A week of showers, sleeping in it, and swimming is a different job. That is when we talk about woven or plastic clip instead.

If you need a small stub that staff can tear off, mention that when you order and we will include it. If you only need the colour, that is all we print.

FAQs

Are Tyvek wristbands waterproof?+
They are made to get wet. Rain, sweat, and washing your hands will not ruin them. They are not meant for a pool or the ocean. If people will be in the water, tell us and we will recommend a better band.
What are Tyvek wristbands used for?+
One-night events where staff need to see who has already come in. Parties, school socials, club nights, and small festivals are the usual work. A colour or a printed word on the wrist is what your team looks for.
What material are Tyvek wristbands made of?+
A tough plastic fibre made by Dupont. It looks and feels a bit like paper, which is why people also call them paper wristbands. It is not office paper.
How long do Tyvek wristbands last?+
They are meant for a single night, and they will usually last a wet weekend if they have to. If the band has to stay readable for several days, woven or plastic clip is the better choice.
Can you write on Tyvek wristbands?+
Yes, with a marker. That is handy for a name at the last minute. For a logo, a date, or a word you care about, we print it, and we show you a picture to approve first.
